The first Aquidneck Island Rain Barrel Fest at First Beach in Newport: April 28, 2018. Funded by an Aquidneck Land Trust/Clean Ocean Access grant from the RI Foundation and the van Beuren Charitable Foundation as part of the Green Infrastructure Coalition. 140 rain barrels and gutter diverters were distributed to the Aquidneck Island community. 24 rain barrels were given out in advance to six different local art classes on Aquidneck Island to paint and decorate. All painted barrels were on display and given away to enthusiastic participants at the end of the event.
