Project: Red Shed Green Roof

Location: Providence Map It

Description:

The 320-sq.-ft project is designed to retain and filter over 700 gallons of storm water. The 50-pound modules will significantly reducing peak runoff quantity while improving PH and filtering out many heavy metals and other atmospheric pollutants. The green roof system will also attract butterflies and other native pollinators and provide habitat for birds in urban environments. And it will also keep the bike shop at 50 Aleppo St. much cooler in the summer.

The project was funded by a National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Five Star & Urban Waters Matching Grant. Tremco Inc.’s Roofing and Building Maintenance Division donated over half of the project materials and provided technical expertise and supervision for the installation.
